Noida double murder case accused is dead

Accused of the double murder case, Noida businessman Rajesh Jolly, who was battling for his life, finally breathed his last in Safdarjung Hospital on Monday afternoon.

Jolly had opened fire at his partner, Ajay Khurana's residence on Tuesday night killing Khurana's wife and son. But, during the shootout, hehad attacked self with a sharp weapon to avoid police custody.

Owing to this, he was admitted and was critical since Wednesday.

"The patient was referred from Kailash hospital, Noida to Safdarjung Hospital on Friday for getting advance treatment. The doctors tried their best to save his life but he died on Monday afternoon at around 1:15 pm.

He suffered severe brain injuries and was also an asthma patient," said a spokesperson from Safdarjung Hospital.

Jolly had sustained grievous injuries on himself after the attack and was admitted to Kailash Hospital, Noida on Tuesday night.

After being shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, he was kept in intensive care unit (ICU) where the doctors put him on a ventilator.

Though Jolly's family members did not visit him in Kailash hospital but came to meet him in Safdarjung Hospital.

Jolly's condition remained unstable throughout the treatment.

He was critical with a fractured skull and serious brain injuries.

In Kailash hospital, Jolly was being treated by doctors from the department of neurosurgery and plastic surgery.

Jolly, a native of Agra had shifted his base to Mayur Vihar Phase 1, about 18 years ago. Jolly's business partner Ajay Khurana was also from the same neighbourhood.

Both Jolly and Khurana had started a business of property and money lending about a decade ago.

Jolly who no personal office used to work from Khurana's office in Mayur Vihar. He is survived by his mother, wife and his 12-year old son. Jolly's wife Meenu, is a teacher in a private school.

Later, Khurana's family bought a bungalow in Noida's Sector 39 and shifted four years ago. Khurana's two sons, Amit and Ankush, helped him in the business at the Mayur Vihar office.

Meanwhile, the police have recorded Meenu Jolly's statement.

However, Amarnath Yadav, SHO, Sector 39 police station, where the case was registered, has been transferred to Kanpur.

"His transfer was a routine one", said sources.
