Noida DM to hold meeting with principals to discuss fee hike

Acting strictly on the arbitrary fee hike by the private schools across Noida and Greater Noida, the newly appointed District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, B N Singh, has called a meeting with the principals of different private schools on Tuesday to discuss the authenticity and reasons behind the hike.

The DM will seek the justifications over hike made by the school management.

The orders have been issued in the wake of resolving the issues between the school management and the parents. There has been continued pressure from agitating parents over the fee hike issue.
The district magistrate has issued an order to all the CBSE/ICSE schools running in Gautam Buddh Nagar to come up and present their justification over the fee hike.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at DM office in Gautam Buddh Nagar on May 2. Also, the DM will make sure that fees hike is made by taking no objection certificate from the board and the state government.

A list will be prepared of such schools and serious actions will be taken against the violators.

Fees hike by private schools has been a limelight issue from over a month. Irked by the arbitrary fee hike from 20 to 50 percent, the parents of the students have led several road protests.

Last month also the district magistrate N.P Singh ordered the schools to formulate a committee for mutually deciding the 'justification' of the fee hike and the heads under
which fee is to be charged by them every year.

However, no relief was provided to the parents over the decision and the parents who were concerned about the future of their ward.

Under the fear of getting their child rusticated from the school, they made the payments.
