Noida authority waives off parking fee from near industrial sectors
Noida: Pressing their demands for freehold model of properties across Noida and cancellation of parking contracts in the industrial sectors, the members of Noida Entrepreneurs Association (NEA), along with other trader organisations and members of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA), on Thursday, staged a massive protest outside Noida Authority's main gate in sector 6 of Noida. Union Minister Mahesh Sharma joined the protest.
As a result of protest, the Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority, Alok Tandon called a meeting to discuss the issue with the president of FONRWA, NEA and other trade bodies. Following the meeting, the authority agreed for their demand to cancel the parking contracts and allowed the industry owners to use the surface outside industries for parking their vehicles without paying any fees.
The entrepreneurs had claimed that their workers were refusing to come to work because of the parking fee.
"Keeping in view their demands, the authority has decided to waive off parking fee for areas in front of industrial units measuring from 50 sq meters to 1,800 sq meters. Now the factory owners can use the spaces outside their factories for parking their vehicle without paying any parking fees" a senior officer from Noida authority said.
Apart from this the authority also agreed to table a proposal to convert the ownership of land in Noida from the existing leasehold model to a freehold one at the next board meeting, scheduled to be held at the end of the year.
"We have decided to take up the proposal of the residents at the next board meeting. If the state government too approves the proposal, then it will be implemented thereafter," official added.
