Noida authority conducts sanitation, cleanliness drive
Noida: Continuing the fifth phase of 'Safaigiri' drive which is aimed to improve Noida's ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2020, the Noida authority, on Sunday, conducted sanitation and cleanliness drive in sector 44, 64, 65, 70, 108 and garhi chowkhandi village of Noida. Authority officials joined
hands with citizens to scan corners of these sectors to pick garbage and also addressed issues relating to sanitation, horticulture, water, garbage disposal and others.
Safaigiri, a cleanliness drive, was started on August 25 from Sector 51 of Noida. It is organised every Sunday in different residential sectors and villages of the city. Officials from water, horticulture, electricity and public health not only visited the sectors to pick up garbage but also take stock of sanitation and other civic issues.
"During the drive, we listened to civic issues raised by the citizens and few of them were resolved on the spot. Apart from this an oath was also administered along the residents towards cleanliness and refrain them from using plastic goods. An awareness was also created about segregation of waste, disposal of plastic waste and door to door collection of garbage," said a senior Noida authority officer.
Noida authority's Officer on Special Duty Avanish Kumar Tripathi, Senior
project Engineer S C Mishra, Senior Manager Salil Yadav and other officials of Noida authority participated in the Safaigiri drive.
