New Delhi: "Everyone watched, but no one came to help my son when he was bleeding on the road," said the grief-stricken mother of the 23-year-old man, who died after his throat was slit in a busy market in west Delhi on Thursday.
For the parents, the nightmare seems to have no end, as they lost their only child.
The mother told Millennium Post that after receiving the information that her son was being beaten up, she reached the spot as soon as possible.
However, the mother of the victim's girlfriend, began beating her as well, leaving the woman with fracture.
"Seeing thism my son came to help me, but the accused caught him and murdered him," said the mother.
The incident took place around 9 pm. As the youth's father tried to stop an e-rickshaw to take him to the hospital, the mother was crying for help.
"No e-rickshaw stopped and when I tried to stop the bleeding from his throat, my hand went into his slashed throat," the mother revelaed.
Finally, an e-rickshaw stopped and the parents took him to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
According to the victim's neighbours, the father of the youth was a heart patient and the mother recently had undergone an operation.
Due to the beating, the mother also suffered injuries and was admitted to hospital. Her clothes were soaked in blood, as she tried to save her son, and also fell unconscious at one point of time, they said.
The neighbours remembered the deceased as a kind-hearted young man.
One of the friends of the deceased, who was reportedly at the spot when the incident happened, said the deceased had said he would not fight with his girlfriend's family and try to resolve the issue through talking.
"He wanted that the girls family should go to police station with my friend and resolve the issue there. He offered peace, but he was killed," said the friend.
