Police apprehend juvenile, say there is evidence to prove connect; family cries foul

Delhi Police claim to have solved the double murder case in Rohini district in which two cousins were found murdered within a few metres of each other. The police have apprehended a juvenile and say that they have evidence to connect him to the murder.

However, the police have so far not been able to establish the motive behind the murder and have claimed that the accused has been giving contradictory statements in a bid to throw the investigators of their track.

The police have also not been able to recover the weapon of offence and have claimed that they have 'credible inputs and facts' to connect him with the murder. The development took place after the police had found the two youth found murdered near gate number 4 at Japani Park located in Rohini.

The police started investigating it from all angles and had picked up several people near the spot and around Karala village, where the deceased used to live, to shed light on the case. One of their friend's Bobby was apprehended by the police as he had asked the boys to accompany him for some work.

"Many joint teams were formed by several officers under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Samaypur Badli) who is investigating the case. We had conducted door-to-door checking and later we found that one of the neighbours of the deceased, a juvenile, was behind it," said a senior police official.

The police had claimed that the boy was involved as they had found blood on his clothes, and when they questioned him, he could not allegedly give a satisfactory answer after which he was picked up. "He has been trying to implicate other people in the case and is not giving us straight answers. He is trying to use his juvenile status to escape from the case.

We have not recovered the murder weapon and will question every single person whose names he took during his questioning," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini), M N Tiwari. Since the details of the case are still quite hazy, the police are still trying to investigate many crucial details.

The family of the juvenile has claimed that the police are trying to falsely implicate the boy and they will approach the Lieutenant Governor in this regard.
