The chain of macabre murders in Gurugram does not seem to end. With no arrests being made so far in four cases of rape and murder of infant girls, another gruesome rape and murder has come to light in the city.
On Thursday, the dead body of 20-year-old woman was found at Ghasola village near the Omaxe society. As has been witnessed in the last four cases, the victim's body was recovered from a slum area in the city. This has led some residents to believe that such crimes are being committed by migrant workers in the city, many of whom are employed as domestic help. In an attempt to prevent such incidents and keep track of migrant workers, Gurugram Police will soon be launching a campaign for registration of domestic helps employed in various condominiums.
According to police officials, plans to organise large scale campaigns for the registration of domestic helps have been discussed with various society members. The Special Investigation Team, formed by Gurugram Police, has also started examining various slum areas and makeshift camps in the city.
"The recent cases of rape and murder have shown that these incidents have been committed by people who live in slums or makeshift camps in the city. One of the biggest challenges today for Gurugram Police is that most of the people who live in these areas come to the city temporarily. We are therefore going to urge various residential society groups to registration their domestic help with the nearby police station," said a senior police official.
