24-year-old snatcher held, 23 cases in Delhi-NCR solved

Deepak is just 24-year-old and has just one snatching or robbery case short of matching his age numerically. His arrest by Crime Branch solved 23 snatching cases mostly in trans-Yamuna areas of Delhi.

A Class VII dropout, Deepak was much of a nuisance in areas of Geeta Colony, Anand Vihar, Gandhi Nagar and Shahdara.

These were the areas where he committed most of his robberies and snatchings.

The cops were after him for a long time and when the ASI of the team received information that Deepak would come to Vivek Vihar, a trap was laid for him. When Deepak came to Vivek Vihar, the cops were already waiting for him.

He was apprehended. "He disclosed that he had committed many robberies and snatchings along with his associate Vivek Kumar. They mostly used stolen scooters and motorcycles to commit snatchings. On his arrest, 23 cases of robberies and snatchings committed in Delhi-NCR have been worked out," said R S Yadav, Joint CP Crime.

His associate Vivek has already been arrested.
