Minor dead, two others injured in separate accidents

Two separate accidents took place in South-west Delhi area in which one minor boy was killed, while two others were injured. In the first incident, an eight-year-old boy died when he was rammed by a tempo truck in Dwarka North area, while in the second incident, a school van carrying around 15 children toppled injuring two children.
In the first incident, an eight-year-old boy, who was on his way to buy books with his 14-year-old sister was hit by an Eicher tempo at around 9.15 pm on Thursday.
According to police, they had received information at around 9.25 pm. A team was rushed to A block in Bharat Vihar. It was later found that the victim, Ankush, was hit by the tempo. The errant vehicle managed to brush past his sister, who escaped unhurt, however, Ankush was severely injured.
He was rushed to the local hospital where he was declared brought dead. The doctors said that he had suffered injuries to his head and shoulder which proved to be fatal.
The police were unable to find the errant driver as he fled the spot. Efforts are onto identify the accused.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-west) Surender Kumar said that Ankush's father works as a driver in Uttam Nagar. He lived in Raju Extension at Shivani Enclave. The family belongs to Begusarai in Bihar.
In the second incident, a private school van carrying around 15 children toppled jeopardising the lives of the children. However, two of them received minor injuries and the rest were safe.
The accident took place on Friday morning when the school van carrying 15 children from Central School located in Sector 5 Dwarka. While the van was transporting the children and was driving rashly it lost its balance after which it toppled, injuring two children.
The police had received a PCR call at around 12.15 pm and a team was rushed to the spot. They found that the van had toppled and later managed to get two children, who had suffered minor injuries to the DDA hospital, where they were discharged after seeking treatment.
"The two boys were discharged within sometime. The rest of them were soon able to return to their school. We have arrested the accused, Rahul after a case was registered under the appropriate sections of the IPC. Further investigation is underway," said a senior police official.
