Gzb writes to NHRC over action against errant cops

Ghaziabad's human rights department has written a letter to the Chairman of National Human Right Commission (NHRC) demanding strict actions to be taken against the police personnel who had allegedly taken a bribe for releasing the culprits who were involved in the murder of BJP leader Sinhasan Pehalwan in Sahibabad.

"On Wednesday night, some boys were creating nuisance near the dairy which was owned by deceased Sinhasan Pehalwan. Raising an objection, they started to quarrel with Pehalwan. The police took them away after a complaint made by him but later were released after the cops took a bribe of Rs 2,000.

Soon after the release, they planned the murder of Pehalwan and he was stabbed to death at around 1:30 am," an allegation made by family members of the deceased. Rajiv Kumar Sharma, a Human Rights defender wrote to the Chairman of National Human Right Commission requesting him to write a letter to the UP government for an investigation to be undertaken against the accused cops followed by strict actions and legal proceedings against them.
