NEW DELHI: A man stabbed his uncle in a fit of rage in Delhi's New Ashok Nagar, after the two men got into a physical scuffle over a monetary dispute.
The accused, identified as 21-year-old Pramod Kumar, reportedly took a knife from the kitchen at his residence and stabbed his uncle, 40-year-old Ram Avtar, on Wednesday.
However, after seeing his uncle bleeding out, Pramod panicked and left the crime scene, bolting the room from the outside and locking his uncle.
As the injured Ram Avtar began crying for help, the landlady of the house heard him and rushed to the spot.
She unlocked the door to find the bleeding Ram Avtar informed the cops.
Soon, police arrived at the spot and shifted Ram Avtar to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where his condition is now said to be stable.
"We have arrested the accused nephew. He has been booked for attempt to murder," said a senior police officer.
The accused revealed that in a fit of rage he first hit his uncle, and then attacked him with a knife that he took from the kitchen. On seeing the blood, he ran away by locking the door from the outside. Cops arrested him in less than 24 hours.
