Neighbour held for raping 14-year-old girl in Noida

Noida: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbor in Kakrala village under Phase-2 area of Noida.
Police arrested the accused youth and sent him to jail on Thursday.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Chand (21), a labourer at a private company.
He was arrested after a case of rape was registered against him at Phase-2 police station.
According to the complaint given by victim's parents, the incident took place on the evening of March 7 when the girl was alone at her home as her family had gone to attend a marriage function.
"The accused who lives in her neighborhood forcefully entered her house and administered her some poisonous substance in order to rape her. Later, he fled after threatening the girl with dire consequences if she tells about the incident to anyone," said Shwetabh Pandey, Circle Officer-3, Noida.
Police said that the girl was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state.
The doctor confirmed the possibility of rape and stated that poisonous substances were found in her body. The condition of the girl is now stable.
"Following the complaint, the accused was arrested from his house and was booked under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was produced before the court and sent to jail," added Panday.
Police said initial investigations showed that the duo was in a relationship and the girl herself consumed poison.
However, the actual reason why she consumed poison is being investigated.
Chand is a native of Muzzafarpur district in Bihar, while the girl studies in Class VIII at a nearby school.
