NDMC pays tribute to ex-chairperson, lays chaadar at his grave
New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council on Tuesday held a tribute in memory of former NDMC chairman Imtiaz Ahmed Khan at his Mazar in South Delhi's Nizamuddin.
Khan passed away 21 years ago, and incumbent chairperson Naresh Kumar laid a chaddar on his grave, remembering him as an able administrator who was soft-spoken and hardworking.
The greatest homage that NDMC staff members could pay is to dedicate themselves to follow his cherished ideals and quality of hard work and a sense of complete identification with the officials of New Delhi Municipal Council, he added.
A floral chaddar was laid at his Mazar at 'Panchpeeran' Graveyard in Nizamuddin in south Delhi area early this morning and Quran Khawani was recited on this occasion. NDMC officials also distributed food items to students of the madrasa inside the premises of the Mazar.
