NDMC inaugurates Atal Tinkering labs

New Delhi: In order to ensure smart infrastructure, NDMC on Monday inaugurated Atal Tinkering Lab besides commissioning "School Management Information System" and sanitary napkin vending machines in all secondary and senior secondary schools. "With an innovative technology and smart infrastructure like setting-up of Atal Tinkering Lab and School Management Information System, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is all set to be a role model for other civic bodies and even the state of the country in the field of education," said Union Minister of State for HRD Satyapal Singh after inaugurating labs at Navyug School at Sarojini Nagar.

The Minister also lauded the initiatives taken by NDMC in respect to distribution of compostable napkins to all adolescent girls students free of cost throughout the year, Compostable napkins made out of natural ingredients and NDMC is the first civic body to introduce free distribution of compostable napkins to the girl students of the NDMC schools in the country.

NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar said that the Tinkering Labs have been installed in three schools of NDMC and by December, 12 such labs would be setup in NDMC and Navyug schools. All 29 Senior Secondary schools will get these labs by March 2019.
