NDMC chairman inaugurates employees' annual sports meet
New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairman Naresh Kumar has said that the games and sports not only make a person healthy, stronger, stress-free but the sports make people connect and when an individual participated in a team sports, he learn more about each other. And most importantly the mutual trust develops, relationship improves, an increase in commitment, trust and respect, which are the basic requirements of any organization. The work force of any organization does not matter but efficient hands were more vital and capable to make any task and able to face many challenge and odds, he said.
He was speaking after inaugurating NDMC officers/employees Annual Sports Meet (Athletics) 2018-19 at Talkatora Cricket Ground in New Delhi on Friday.
Besides, the Cricket team of President of India Secretariat-XI, the teams of eight departments of the Council are participating in the tournament, which will culminate on February 7 and as many as 5,000 employees will be participating.
The Chairman said that in future the tournament will be organized twice a year on half yearly basis and the teams of sports and games of inter-municipal bodies of NCR wiil be invited in the tournament and added that the outdoor and indoor sports facilities would be enhanced so as to encourage the employees of NDMC to participate in the sports activities on regular basis. The Welfare Director of NDMC has been directed to explore the possibility for providing more facilities to the employees of the Council and to setup a dedicated cell to monitor the sports activity in the NDMC headquarters.
