'Naagmani' cheats arrested for selling fake NASA Suits

New Delhi: A father-son duo who has duped several people on the pretext of selling 'Naagmani' and magic mirror have been arrested by the Delhi Police crime branch when they tried to cheat a Delhi-based businessman of Rs 1.43 crore on the pretext of selling a hypothetical product called Rice Puller (RP) machine. This, the cheats said, is used by NASA and DRDO. The businessman was asked to invest in the testing and if the tests are successful Rs 10 crore would be paid to him. The complainant alleged that a few years ago, he came in contact with a person who told him about huge profits in dealing of Rice Puller, which is said to be a brass plate charged by thunderbolt falling on it and required by NASA and DRDO for space research.
The victim businessman was later contacted by an unknown man who offered to sell him RP. The victim without realising that the caller was a part of the cheating group fell in the trap and entered into an MoU with accused Virender Mohan Brar and paid Rs 5.6 lakh, Rs 19 lakh, Rs 24.6 lakh and Rs 38 lakh for arranging special anti-radiation suits to be worn by scientists during testing, fees of scientist and for obtaining chemicals required for the testing. Later, on one pretext or the other, the victim again entered into an MoU with the company and again paid Rs 5.6 lakh, Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 42 lakh on different occasions.
"After diligent technical and hard field works, the Crime Branch team succeeded in tracing and arresting the accused, Virender Mohan Brar, who represented himself as MD of Rehan Metals, USA, which deals in antique and rare metals used by NASA in space research programmes along with his associate and son Nitin Mohan. They are residents of Delhi's Paschim Vihar," said Alok Kumar, Joint CP Crime.
