Mystery shrouds death of woman found in drain, daughter missing

New Delhi: Mystery shrouds the death of 23-year-old woman whose body was found in a drain situated in the Najafgarh area of Dwarka district. The six months daughter of the deceased is also missing for which teams have been searching in different areas. According to the police, a call regarding the floating of a female body in the drain near Sector 16 was received and the investigation was handed over to Assistant Sub Inspector Mahender. The Investigating Officer reached the spot and found the body to be drowning in the Najafgarh Drain. With the help of people around, the body was pulled out of the drain.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse stated that on checking the missing register, the deceased was identified as living with her family in Najafgarh." On enquiry, it was revealed that her husband had lodged a missing report on July 7 at 12.05 pm. He informed that on July 6, he went to his office on the routine basis. In the evening, when he came back his owner informed him that his wife along with her daughter left home at about 11 am saying that she is going to Anganbari but did not return. He contacted all his relatives, both in Delhi and Uttarakhand, but could not find her. Police claimed that the husband informed that terms were not good between them and she would remain silent since the past few days.
