According to police, on November 26 at around 7.45 pm, a call was received at Sultan Puri police station from Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital regarding a girl (4) brought dead by her mother.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) A Koan said that on the day of the incident, the accused had taken the minor girl to a tuition centre.

"The girl made some mistake while crossing the road therefore, the accused had beaten her. Due to that, she became unconscious and was brought to her house. Later, she was taken to SGM hospital by her mother," said DCP Koan. During the investigation, the accused was caught by the police staff.

Further investigation revealed that the deceased's mother was married to one Rahul in 2014 and the girl was born from their wedlock. Rahul demised in 2017. Her mother then married to another person who used to beat her so she got separated from him.

"In 2019, her mother got married to accused who was a worker in a cloth factory in Nangloi and they were residing in Sultan Puri," police said. A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered at Sultanpuri police station.
