Muslims still see AAP and Congress as feasible options

The voters in Delhi hailing from the Muslim majority areas have shown that the population still considers Aam Admi party and Congress as the two feasible options amongst others. In the MCD election results, the wards having Muslim dominance has seen a tough fight between AAP and Congress candidates for various seats.
In Zakir Nagar ward of South MCD, a neck to neck fight was seen between Congress candidate Shoeb Danish and AAP candidate Mehmood Ahmed. Though the sitting councillor Danish defeated the AAP candidate, the margin of victory was 1070 with both the candidates getting 20,450 votes together.
In another adjoining ward Abul Fazal Enclave, people exhibited faith in AAP candidate Wajid Khan who defeated his rival from Congress, Parvez Alam by a margin of 4247. Both the candidates got 16,501 votes.
In the walled city, the Muslim majority voters once again trusted the two parties to represent them in the MCD elections. From Delhi Gate, Aaley Mohammad from Congress defeated his rival Riyazuddin from AAP by a masive margin of 7519 votes. The total votes the two parties acquired from the area is 14,169.
Sultana Abaad contesting from Jama Masjid on Congress ticket defeated Hameeda (AAP) by a margin of 6,035. The total votes received by the two candidates is 14,803.
From Ballimaraan, Mohammad Sadiq representing AAP defeated Mohd Qazzafi from Congress by a margin of 6970. AAP and Congress together received 21,730.
However, from Seelampur in East MCD, Shakeela Begum from Bahujan Samaj Party defeated Seema Sharma from BJP by a margin of 2,400 votes. Shakeela got 10,159 votes.
From Mustafabad, Congress candidate Parveen received 14,451 votes while the runner-up was AAP candidate Shakila Begum who received 10,332 votes. Combined, both AAP and Congress received 24,783.
