Gurugram: Officials of Gurugram police have begun their investigations into the alleged murder plot being hatched inside the Bhondsi jail to eliminate a serving crime branch police officer.
What is even more shocking is the fact that the contract was allegedly given by another police official, who was sent to jail on charges of corruption.
According to sources, law enforcement officials have now got in touch with dozen of gangsters to get into the nitty-gritty of the case.
Chilling details emerged when a dreaded gangster by the name of Surender, alias Sunda, claimed that he was offered a amount of Rs 25 lakh by the said official to kill his counterpart.
Sunda further mentioned that as he was being shifted to another jail, he gave the official the reference of another gangster, named Bittu, who could fulfil this objective.
It is believed that Bittu was also paid Rs 1.5 lakh in advance by the official, so that he could start the process. However, the plan was not executed, the reasons for which has still not been explained by the gangsters who are being interrogated.
Even though there has been no official confirmation, the Gurugram police are also interrogating gangs to gather more leads in the case.
"We have begun our investigation. As and when there is any major leads, we will definitely announce it in front of the media," said Sumit Kuhar Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Gurugram.
This is not for the first time when sinister criminal plots have been hatched inside the jail.
Recently, law enforcement officials in the Millennium Ctiy had arrested three sharp shooters of Ashok Rathee gang for firing gun shots at the cashier of a bakery.
This was done in order to intimidate the owner for paying the ransom of Rs 50 lakh.
Co-incidentally, Rathee is also accused of hiring sharp shooters within the prison who then murdered his wife by shooting her dead in Sohna road in 2016.
There were also reports that dreaded gangsters Binder Gurjar and Manjeet Mahal demanded extortion of Rs10 lakhs and an Audi car from another prisoner Manish Bharadwaj who has been held up for illegal arms act.
Shockingly this is for the second time when Manjeet Mahal will be charged for extortion within the jail premises.
