Murder motive: Personal enmity or political rivalry

Faridabad: The precision at which the entire event of murdering Vikas Chaudhary was carried have led Faridabad Police to infer that this was a well-planned attack that may have been carried out by known criminals.

The real motive of the murder is yet to be ascertained by the police despite the murder being committed in the broad daylight and that too in the busy area of sector-9.

According to sources, besides being involved in the political activities, Vikas Chaudhary was also involved in the financing activities where he used to give loans. What is however also being brought out is that Chaudhury was also involved in a host of criminal activities and it was due to the enemies he had made during this time led to his brutal murder.

According to the police, the teams have already been dispatched to areas of Western Uttar Pradesh, Bahadurgarh, Delhi and Gururgam where they feel the murderers might have escaped.

"As per the leads so far Vikas Chaudhary had a criminal background and 13 FIRs of extortion, kidnapping, attempt to murder etc were regd against him since 2007 in Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh. His murder appears to be connected to his own criminal background," said Navdeep Singh Virk Additional DGP (law and order).

Sources claim that he had made certain rivals in the business There is also a view that rapid growth of Chaudhary in the Congress party had cause envy among various senior leaders. A lot of small case often got registered against him for getting in a scuffle with the opposition leaders and policemen as he used to be at the forefront of the attacks. According to sources most of the Congress workers had already expressed their displeasure of his stature being risen at a very short time.

At a time when there is believed to be a lot of groupism in the party, there was also unhappiness of Chaudhury moving away from Hooda camp to Ashok Tanwar camp. "As of now, it will be too premature for us to come to the conclusion of what may have happened. We have got certain leads in the case and am working towards it in cracking the case," said Jaiveer Rathi ACP (crime ).
