Municipal labour unions call off protest after meet with Labour dept

NEW DELHI: A planned protest by Delhi municipal labour unions was called off on Thursday after a positive meeting with the Labour department. Chaired by Additional Commissioner Yadav, the discussion addressed key demands, including cashless cards for sanitation workers, regularisation of contractual staff (1998–2006), timely retirement dues, and fresh recruitment.
