Motorist without helmet dies in south Delhi mishap

New Delhi: In a tragic accident, a young professional guitarist died in a road accident after his Harley Davidson collided with a scooty on the Chirag Delhi BRT corridor in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday at around 1:30 am.
Pravesh Kumar, 24, was a professional guitarist and had done various stage shows. Several of his videos are uploaded on Youtube as well as other ocial media platforms.
On the fateful night, Pravesh was coming towards Chirag Delhi BRT corridor along with his friend Amit where the Harley Davidson collided with a speeding scooty that was coming from Pushpa Vihar side. The impact of the collision was such that all five people, two on Harley Davidson and three on the scooty were thrown several meters and sustained grievous injuries.
"We immediately rushed the injured to the hospital where Pravesh who had suffered major injuries collapsed and was declared brought dead by the doctors," said a senior Police officer in South East Delhi.
The police also said that neither Pravesh nor any other accident victims were wearing helmets.
The impact also lead to grievous and serious injuries to Amit who was on the Harley Davidson with Pravesh. His condition is said to be critical and has still not gained consciousness.
"One boy on the scooty is also unconscious and the other two have sustained fractures in their legs and hands. They have been admitted to the hospital where there condition is being monitored," said an officer.
Pravesh resided in Madangir of south east Delhi, a Delhi University student with a passion for guitar since he was a young boy. He has also uploaded several videos composing various tunes on Facebook.
On January 10 he enthusiastically urged his friends to see his music video that he did with Bollywood playback singer Kamal Khan.
