Mobile phone of foreign national stolen
New Delhi: The mobile phone of a foreign national was allegedly stolen by pickpockets in Central Delhi's Nabi Karim area. Police have registered a case and investigation is going on. The complainant who is the native of England told police that on November 21, his phone was stolen on the road of Central Delhi's Paharganj area by pickpockets.
"I was surprised to find my number was being used by Whats App by someone else. I telephoned this number on Whats App. Someone answered asking me about my hotel address and room number. When I said I am going to the police station he cut the call," the complainant told the police.
The foreign national in his complaint told police that he will leave Delhi till on November 24. A case under section 379 (Punishment for theft)of IPC was registered at Nabi Karim police station.
The Delhi Police data claimed that till November 15 as many as 16,55,24 cases of other theft were registered in various police stations.
