Minor dalit girl raped by neighbour
Ghaziabad: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 35-year-old neighbor in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad on Wednesday.
Cops have registered a case into the matter and the victim has been sent for medical examination. Police are yet to make any arrest into the case so far.
According to police, the accused identified as Arvind Singh, runs a daily need's shop in the area.
"The accused raped girl when she was alone at her house as her family had gone to see an ailing relative to a hospital in Delhi," said police.
As per reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the accused, who lived in victim's neighbourhood, entered her house and raped her taking advantage of her being alone at home.
Cops said that the accused was known to victim's family as her mother used to purchase groceries from his shop from past many years.
He used to live near the victim's house along with his wife and two children.
"On Tuesday afternoon around 1.30 pm, we got a phone call from one of my neighbors who made me talk to my daughter. She was sounding very nervous and asked me to immediately come back home as she is not feeling comfortable. We immediately left the hospital and rushed to our home. Upon asking her she narrated her ordeal," said victim's mother.
"After being told by my daughter about the incident, my husband and his younger brother went to the accused's house but they were thrashed by him and his friends. My husband's brother also received injuries and he has been getting treatment at the hospital," mother added.
"Arvind's family was known to us from past many years and I have always treated his wife as my younger sister. We have never thought that he would do such a crime with my daughter," victim's mother said.
Meanwhile police have registered a case into thematter.
"Following the incident, an FIR under IPC Section 376 (rape), relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of SC/ST act."
"The accused is absconding and police are trying to trace him," said JK Singh, Station House Officer at Sahibabad police station.
Police said that the parents had adopted the victim from one of their relatives when she was two years old but had a son a few years later.
