Minister for people-friendly conduct from staff
NEW DELHI: Minister of Social Welfare Rajendra Pal Gautam on Tuesday convened a meeting of all district officers regardless of their designation to sensitize them about genial and cordial conduct towards citizens who visit their offices to get their work done.
The minister instructed to fully computerize the district offices and set up a single-window clearance system for all issues and public announcements in district offices regarding the processes to be followed in the offices. A token system would be introduced so that all visitors barring the one called to the counter would be seated comfortably in the office. Water, sanitation and toilet services too would be provided in all the district offices.
In short, the above services will be a kind of citizen's charter defining the duty of the government staff. The minister warned everyone that any irregularity in delivering services or harassment caused to any citizen will be dealt with strict action. Additionally, the district offices will meet their respective MLA every fortnight to receive and resolve pending issues brought to the notice of the MLAs.
