Metro ridership for 2016-17 reaches a record 100 crore

Delhi Metro's cumulative ridership for the financial year 2016-2017 crossed 100 crore on Wednesday for the first time, establishing Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as the mass transportation backbone of the National Capital Region.
According to a statement by DMRC, a total of 100.16 crore passengers have travelled by Delhi Metro till Wednesday night, registering a 6.56 percent growth in average daily ridership since the last financial year 2015-16.
The average daily ridership has been increased by 43 percent in the last five years.
In the 2013-14 it was 80.17 crore. The number in 2014-15 was 94.69 crore.
