Meals for homebuyers, labourers in Gr Noida at Rs5

Greater Noida: Inspired by Noida's 'Dadi ki Rasoi' which offers meals prepared with desi ghee for Rs 5, a home buyers' association of Greater Noida West on Sunday started 'Janta Ki Thali', which will provide meals to home buyers and labourers for just Rs 5 on Sundays.
The facility has been started by Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association (NEFOWA) near Gaur City in Noida Extension.
It served lunch to over two hundred people after it started functioning at around 11 on Sunday.
NEFOWA came forward with the idea to offer cheap food keeping in mind various protests that are staged against builders in Greater Noida West. The protests are staged over the delay in delivery of flats or being harassed by the builders in some way or the other.
"We wanted to provide cheap and quality food to the home buyers who have been fighting for their homes for past many years and are forced to stand in the scorching sun for hours to fight for their right.
"The protesters that include small kids, women and elderly persons hardly get anything good to eat in the vicinity so we thought to provide them with quality food that too at a very nominal price," said Indrish Gupta, co-founder, NEFOWA.
Apart from these, the facility will also cater to those home buyers who visit Noida Extension on Sunday in order to visit their under-construction flats. The labourers working at various projects will also be benefited by this.
A member of the association said that initially the facility will be available on Sunday only but they will try and expand it for all seven days of the week in future.
An individual can have Rajma Chawal, Cholle Chawal, apart from regular Dal Chawal for just Rs 5.
Meanwhile, the association on Sunday also held a meeting with the home buyers of the Amrapali Group to discuss their action plan following the Supreme Court order to complete the stalled projects of Amrapali Group as soon as possible.
