Man with two aides strangled wife, sister-in-law to death

New Delhi: The main accused in the murder of two sisters, whose bodies were found in the drain in Rohini, turned out to be one of the deceased's husbands who along with his two associates strangled them to death and threw their bodies.

Police claimed that the accused was not happy with his wife doing the job and when she left her house due to constant harassment, the accused hatched the conspiracy of murder.

The accused have been identified as Gulshan, Prem (31) and Shivam (21). "The accused Gulshan did not want his wife Salma (name changed) to work and wanted her to start living with him whereas she did not want to live with him due to his constant harassment and beatings," said police.

Meanwhile, police claimed that Gulshan is already married and he solemnized second marriage with deceased Salma. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Atul Thakur stated that on September 19, in the evening, two sisters, Salma and Noori (Name Changed) residents of Chauhan Bangar, Delhi, left home for ISBT Kashmiri Gate, but both did not return till the next day and their mobile numbers were also found not reachable. Consequently, a missing report was lodged.

Later on September 23, two women's bodies were found in the area of Alipur, which were identified as missing girls. A team led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) RP Meena arrested Salma's husband who was missing after the incident. Gulshan with his two associates from different parts of Capital were planning to flee.

"It was revealed that accused Gulshan used to beat and harass his wife, due to which Salma had left him and was living with her parents in Seelampur since March 2018. He conspired with his associates to eliminate Salma," said the DCP. The police claimed that on September 19, Gulshan called Salma, posing as an employer and asked her to come to ISBT Kashmere Gate. Salma along with her sister Noori went there, where Shivam having one car, posed himself as the driver of the employer, while Lucky and Kaake were on a motorcycle at some distance.

"As per the plan, Shivam took both sisters in that car and offered them sedative-laced cold drinks while they were on their way to Burari. At a CNG filling station in Samay Pur Badli area, Gulshan and Kaake also entered the car. Noori was not unconscious till then while Salma was in the unconscious state," said the police. When Noori threatened them and tried to raise an alarm, all three accused first strangulated her in the car and thereafter they strangulated Salma and dumped their bodies in the drain in the area of Alipur police station.
