Man who tried to kill station master held
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested a drug peddler named Manish Thakur and seized 15.3 kilograms of ganja from his possession. He is a resident of East Champaran in Bihar.
Delhi Police received specific information that one person involved in drug trafficking would come at Mahawat Khan Road with a huge quantity of Ganja. The team immediately laid a trap at Mahawat Khan Road. At about 7 pm, one person was apprehended at the instance of the informer and on his cursory search, two bags containing Narcotics substance was recovered. On verification, it was learnt to be Ganja and weighed about 15.3 kg. His identity was disclosed as Manish Thakur. He was subjected to sustained interrogation in which he disclosed that he was an auto driver in Bihar.
About three months back, he shifted to Delhi and started trafficking illegal drugs from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi to earn easy money. "He also disclosed that he is wanted in an attempt to murder case of GRP, Motihari Railway Station, Bihar in which he attempted to kill a Station Master of Motihari Railway Station along with his cousins in the month of July 2019. Two of his cousins were arrested but he was absconding," said Mandeep Singh Randhawa, DCP Central.
