Man strangled eight-yr-old to death who caught him sodomising boy, held

Ghaziabad: Police on Wednesday said they have arrested a 22-year-old man accused of murdering an eight-year-old boy who had gone missing from Shri Ram Enclave in Kavi Nagar area on October 26 and whose body was found in a jungle of village Girdharpur near Bamheta forest area on October 28.

Cops said that the accused, identified as Pappu, was a friend of the victim's father and murdered him when the victim saw him sodomising another boy in a jungle.

A native of Bihar, Pappu used to do tiling work along with the deceased boy's father and lived in a rented house in the same locality, said police.

Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ghaziabad said that a team of Kavi Nagar police arrested the accused from near Lal Kuan. "The accused confessed to have murdered the boy after he saw him sodomising another kid," the officer said.

"Investigations revealed that the victim saw the accused indulging in unnatural sex with another boy. The accused was naked and fearing that the boy would report the incident to some other person, he lured the boy to the jungle and strangled him" Krishna added.

The SSP further said that after committing the heinous crime, he disposed off the body in a pit and hid the boy's trousers and slippers in a nearby bush and even pretended to search for the boy so that no one would doubt him.

"The accused has been booked under sections 302 and 201) of the IPC and sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act. We have recovered the victim's trousers and slippers and the accused has been sent to jail after being produced before the court" added Krishna.
