Man stabs wife to death in Noida, escapes

Noida: A 33-year-old woman has been allegedly stabbed to death by her husband in Chhijarsi village under phase-3 area of Noida on early Wednesday morning. Police have registered a case of murder against the husband who has been absconding after the incident.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mamta who lived with her husband in a rented house. She was found dead with a knife stab on her neck allegedly by her husband Ajay.

"The incident occurred at around 5 am when the family members rushed to the room as they heard some loud cries," said a senior police officer.

The police said that the victim's husband is a cancer patient and the disease got diagnosed about six months back.

"Ajay was scheduled to undergo a checkup at AIIMS on Wednesday. The family had been discussing about the matter till 2 am in the house after which the kids went to the terrace to sleep. Later, suddenly at around 5 am, the victim's brother, Rahul, heard loud cries and woke up from sleep and rushed downstairs. There, he saw the body of his sister with a knife stabbed in the throat. Ajay was missing," said Amit Kumar Singh, station house officer, Phase 3 police station.

The family hails from the Lalitpur district. Nearly three months back, Mamta moved to Noida with her two kids. She started working in a factory and Ajay came to Chhijarsi to meet his kids a week back.

Following the incident, a murder case has been registered against Ajay at the Phase 3 police station.

"Based on the complaint filed by the family members, a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code have been registered. While teams have been formed to nab the accused," said Singh.
