Man shot dead, wife injured in Rohini's Bawana

New Delhi: A 36-year-old man was murdered while his wife sustained bullet injuries after unknown assailants shot them in Rohini's Bawana industrial area on Saturday night. Police are inspecting CCTV footage of the area to identify the accused.

Police on Sunday said the deceased has been identified as Amit Singh, while his injured wife has been identified as Jyoti.

"We received a PCR call on Saturday night, informing us about the shooting of a couple, who are roadside vendors. A team rushed the spot and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. Singh was declared brought dead on arrival at MV Hospital in Bawana," said Rajneesh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Rohini).

Cops said Jyoti sustained a bullet wound on the right side of her waist and was referred to Saroj Hospital, where she is said to be out of danger.

"We have registered a case under sections 302 and 307 of the IPC and section 25 Arms Act against unknown assailants. We have formed two teams who are working on the case," said Gupta.
