Man shoots at father before killing self

Greater Noida: A 33-year-old man allegedly shot at his father before killing self in Dankaur area of Greater Noida on late Thursday night. Cops said that the accused has died in the incident while the elderly man is critical and has been admitted to the hospital.

According to police, the accused was identified as Bheem Singh, a native of Dalelgarh village in Dankaur while his father has been identified as Rajbeer Singh (64). Police officials said that the accused was under influence of alcohol at the time to incident.

Amit Kishor Shrivastava, Circle Office-2, Greater Noida said that the incident occurred on late Thursday night after a heated argument broke out between the deceased and his father.

"Family members have told police that the two had altercation over Bheem Singh's drinking habit as he came home late and was drunk. Rajbeer harsh words might have prompted Bheem who was in an inebriated condition and he pulled out a gun and shoot his father" said Shrivastava.

The officer further said that the accused further shot himself after he saw his father lying in a pool of blood on the floor.

"Soon after he shot at his father, the accused committed suicide by shooting himself too. Both the victims were rushed to a nearby private hospital where Bheem Singh was declared brought dead while his father's condition is critical and he is still receiving treatment at the hospital. The body of deceased was taken to police custody which was later sent for post mortem," he added.

Meanwhile police have registered a case into the matter. "Based on statement given by deceased's father, an FIR under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC has been registered against the accused at Dankaur police stations of Greater Noida and further investigations into the case are underway," Shrivastava said.
