Man kills paramour's son who caught them in the act
Ghaziabad: Police here on Wednesday night arrested a 29-year-old man accused of murdering a 13-year-old boy in Modinagar area of Ghaziabad. Cops on Thursday said that the accused, identified as Subhash, murdered the boy as he had seen his mother and the accused in a compromising position.
Last week, the boy's body was found, with his throat slit, in a sugarcane field in Muradnagar, around eight kilometres away from his house in Modinagar.
The boy had been reported missing from his house on June 29, after which police had registered a missing complaint and launched a search.
Police said that Subhash had been living as a tenant at the deceased's house for the past nine months.
"Based on the details and names of the suspected persons given in the FIR, police detained them for questioning. However, they were not guilty or involved in the act. Teams were formed and CCTV footage of roads leading to Muradnagar were checked and the boy was seen traveling with Subhash," said Vaibhav Krishan, senior superintendent of police (Ghaziabad).
Late Wednesday night, cops apprehended Subhash for questioning. "During interrogation, he revealed that he had been staying as a tenant at the house of the deceased for the past nine months. Over this time, he began an affair with the boy's mother," added Krishan.
The accused also revealed that on the evening of June 26, the boy caught his mother and Subhash getting intimate, which made Subhash apprehensive about the boy revealing his affair.
"On June 29, Subhash took the boy with him on the pretext of buying him kites, but instead took him to a deserted area where he choked him to death and then slit his throat," said Krishan.
In the beginning of the investigation, Subhash had even pretended to be cooperative with cops and tried to find the boy, but was in fact trying to mislead the investigators from vital clues.
