Man involved in double murder nabbed in Chhawla

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man involved in the murder of a brother and sister in village Ghummanhera of Najafgarh in south west Delhi was arrested from Chhawla on Tuesday.
Police said that the accused, identified as Sandeep Kumar, is a resident of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh on Wednesday said that on March 5, one Anita Yadav, who was the principal of a private school, and her brother Jaikishan were shot dead by her neighbour Naveen and his associates.
He added that her son was present at the spot and luckily escaped, as the pistol used by accused Naveen malfunctioned.
Yadav's husband recorded his statement stating that his wife was murdered by Naveen and his associates over a property dispute in Ghummanhera village.
Police claimed that their first success was achieved on March 9, when one Ranjeet was arrested from Unnao. He confessed that he helped Naveen in murdering the siblings, as he was assured a hefty sum for the job.
He also revealed Sandeep's involvement in the crime.
Believing that things had settled down, Sandeep came back to Delhi and went to Chhawla on Tuesday, from where police apprehended him.
Police revealed that Sandeep had come to Delhi in 2011, looking for a job, and met Naveen a few years ago.-
He began working at Naveen's home and office, and further introduced him to Ranjeet.
The enmity between the deceased and Naveen peaked around three months ago, and Naveen planned to eliminate them.
"Being a loyal servant, Sandeep decided to help Naveen and arranged arms and ammunition from Amethi (for the murders). Naveen also promised him a hefty sum and paid some amount in advance. Ranjeet was badly in need of money for his love marriage with his girlfriend, so he joined them in committing the murders," police said.
