Man held with gold at IGIA

New Delhi: The customs officials have arrested a man with 260 grams of gold worth over nine lakh rupees at Delhi Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.

According to customs, on October 31, they have intercepted a passenger and during his personal and baggage search two small oval shape packets wrapped with red colour adhesive tape containing brown colour substance was recovered, which further resulted in the extraction of gold.

"The passenger admitted to smuggling of 1300 grams gold valued more than Rs 45 lakh in his past five visit," said customs. The passenger was later arrested.
