Man gets himself shot to implicate rivals, dies

New Delhi: In a dramatic turn of events, a man conspired to get himself shot at to implicate his closest rival in an attempt-to-murder case. The men he hired shot at him but the script got horribly wrong as Manoj died in the hospital while being treated for the gunshot injury.
The scripted drama began at around 12:30 am on Tuesday when the police at Khajoori Khas in North East Delhi received a call that a man had been shot at. Soon, the police teams went to the spot and inspected the crime scene. The injured man with a gunshot injury was identified as Manoj and was immediately rushed to the Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.
When the police team started the investigation, Manoj's brother-in-law Ajay told the police that some bike-borne assailants fired at Manoj. However, the investigating officers soon picked up some loopholes in the story and questioned Ajay. The officers said that initially Ajay tried to mislead the police by telling a concocted story but soon he broke down and confessed to his involvement in the crime. He also revealed the deceased's involvement in the conspiracy. "Our investigation revealed some interesting facts. It was revealed that the deceased's brother-in-law Ajay conspired with some of his friends and shot Manoj. Manoj has himself volunteered to be shot at to implicate another rival in the area who deals in drugs. However, the bullet hit Manoj in the vital part of his body and he succumbed to his injuries," said RP Meena, additional DCP North East. The cops have arrested Ajay and are looking for his friends who took part in the murder.
