Man files assault plaint against Arjun Rampal, actor denies

Bollywood actor and producer Arjun Rampal found himself in a soup after he allegedly threw a camera flash at a man who was dancing at a party in a night club located in Lutyens' Delhi in the wee hours of Sunday.

The actor was reportedly being clicked by a photographer, when he snatched the camera flash and threw it at the dance floor injuring the man.

A assault complaint was later filed at Connaught Place police station, after the complainant Shobhit sustained injuries to his head.
However, no FIR was registered by cops at the time of writing this report.

The actor, on his part, has clarified that he never assaulted anyone in the party and claimed that the incident was "fake new".

According to the complainant, the incident took place around 3.30 am on Sunday, when the actor was playing as a DJ at Privee nightclub, located in a five-star hotel in Lutyens' Delhi.

When the actor was playing, a photographer reportedly took out his camera to take his photo.

Rampal then snatched his camera flash and threw it at the crowd thinking that someone from the dance floor would capture it.

"He threw a camera flashlight in the crowd hoping that someone will catch it.

But it hit a man named Shobhit on his head. He did not sustain any grievous injuries, but in the medical examination that was carried out, it has been found that it is a lacerated wound," said a police officer privy to the investigation.

The police have received the complaint but are looking at the contents of the complaint and will take action according to the due course of law, police have said.

After the incident, the actor took to social media, denying that any such incident took place.

"Woke up to be flooded by messages of assaulting a fan Man! Where do people make this news up from? Not assaulted anyone #untrue #fakenews (sic)," Arjun Rampal wrote.
