Man dies, other battling for life after being hit by bus

New Delhi: A 59-year-old man died and another person was seriously injured when they were hit by a bus in the posh area of Khan Market on Friday. Police claimed that both the persons are gardeners (mali) in NDMC and presently posted at Khan Market, NDMC Enquiry office.

According to police, deceased and victim were presently posted at Khan Market, NDMC Enquiry office. DCP (New Delhi) Madhur Verma claimed that at around 11.16 am, a PCR call was received regarding the accident at the roundabout in Khan Market, in which two persons got injured.

"On reaching the spot, one private bus bearing UP number plate was found near the spot, blood spots and one broken bicycle was also found," police said. It was learnt that two persons got injured in the accident. One of the injured was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, by public person and the other injured person was taken to RML Hospital by PCR.

The driver of the bus fled the spot. The bus was taken on rent by Survodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Burari for the trip of their students to Lotus Temple. "One person taken to AIIMS was later declared as brought dead and identified as Rajender Prasad. The other with head injury was admitted at RML Hospital in serious condition," police said.
