Man dies after falling into pothole in Noida
Noida: A man in his late 30s was killed while another sustained severe injuries after the bike they were travelling in fell into a pothole along the road at FNG expressway near sector 116 of Noida on late Sunday night.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Yashwant Kumar, a native of Rampur district, who worked as a supervisor at a construction site in Greater Noida and lived at a rented house in village Sarfabad.
He was riding to Noida after completing his duty from Greater Noida along with his friend, identified as Vishesh Kumar, on late Sunday
night.
"The incident took place at late night around 12 am. Passerby conveyed the information to police following which a police team reached the spot and the victims were taken to hospital where Yashwant succumbed to injuries while another victim has been critical and was referred to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi for further treatment," said Girija Shankar Tripathi, Station house officer of sector 49 police station.
"Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for the post mortem and further investigations are underway," said Girija Shankar Tripathi, Station house officer of sector 49 police station," Tripathi further added.
The officer further said that the incident was a fall out of low visibility due to dense fog.
"Prima facie it appears that the man who was driving the motorcycle failed to see the pot hole due to dense fog. However the actual reason can only be ascertained after investigating the case," added Tripathi.
