Man beats friend to death over trivial issue

NEW DELHI: A person was reportedly beaten to death by acquaintances in Anand Vihar area over a trivial issue of ownership of a jacket.

Police claimed that the deceased was beaten with a stick and the accused was immediately arrested.

According to police, a quarrel was reported near ISBT Anand Vihar police post at 1.40 am on Monday.

The police team reached the spot and found that the victim Balbir, a resident of IIT campus in Hauz Khas, had received severe head injury. He was brought to LBS hospital, but declared brought dead on arrival.

Police claimed that during investigation, it came to light that the culprit Shankar was involved in the case.

On the day of the incident, the accused along with deceased were coming from Lado Sarai to Anand Vihar.

A quarrel took place on the way between the two friends on the issue of the jacket, which led to the scuffle and the was accused beaten to death.
