Man arrested for raping 15-yr-old girl in Dhankaur

Greater Noida: A 28-year-old man has been arrested by police for allegedly raping a minor girl and threatening to kill her from Dankaur area of Greater Noida. Police said that the incident took place on Tuesday evening while the accused was arrested from his house on early Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sanjeev, a resident of Dadupur village under Dankaur area of Greater Noida.

The 15-year-old victim, a class sixth student, was raped by a man living in her neighbourhood while she was going to her farm to feed cattle. The culprit forcibly dragged the girl to a farm and raped her. He further threatened the girl to kill her if she told about the incident to anyone.

"Based on complaint received from the victim's brother, an FIR was lodged under IPC Section 376 and relevant sections of Protection of Child Against Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act. During the probe police raided suspected locations and nabbed the accused from his house at around 4 am on Wednesday," said a senior police officer of Dankaur police station.

The accused has been produced before the court and sent to the jail.
