Man arrested for killing wife in Khyala
New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have arrested a man who killed his wife by burning her with kerosene in West Delhi's Khyala area.
According to police, on September 9, a 24-year-old woman, a resident of Raghubir Nagar was admitted by her husband at the hospital. She was burnt on Monday by her husband who "doused her with kerosene.
Later on, she was referred to another hospital. SDM Patel Nagar has recorded the statement of the victim at the hospital.
On the direction of SDM Patel Nagar, on the said statement a case under sections 307, 498A and 34 of IPC was registered at Khyala police station. During treatment, the victim was succumbed to her injury and declared dead on September 13 at 11:30 pm.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Sameer Sharma said that there was a fight between the couple after which the accused burnt his wife. Investigators claimed that they are probing the case from different angles including dowry.
Man held for shooting woman
Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a person who shot a woman in Outer North district.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 10.05 pm on Friday when Rachna (the victim) tried to stop the quarrel between Javed and his wife in Narela's Sector B2.
The accused shot her and fled. He was nabbed from Narela area.
