Major reshuffle: Health, edu depts get new secys
NEW DELHI: In a major reshuffle in the Delhi government bureaucracy, eight officials of the Indian Administrative Services were handed over different charges.
A letter sent by the Principal Secretary of the Lieutenant Governor noted that these appointments should be applicable in an immediate effect.
By means of the order, the Education and Health department of the Delhi government have received new secretaries.
Sanjeev Khirwar, an IAS officer of the 1994 cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Kumar, a 1997 batch IAS cadre officer, who was earlier the Secretary of Information and Technology Department and held additional charge of Education Secretary, has now been appointed as the permanent Education Secretary.
Kumar will, meanwhile, holding additional charges of the Information Technology department and Managing Director of Geospatial Delhi Ltd. For the last few weeks, The Education Department had no permanent secretary.
Rajiv Yaduvanshi, who was the Principal Secretary of the Health Department, will take over as Principal Secretary (Urban Development).
Moreover, G Narendra Kumar, the Principal Secretary of Services Department, has been given additional charge of Technical Education Department.
Sanjay Goel, Mahima Gupta, JP Agarwal and Virendra Kumar also got new positions in the reshuffle.
