Lawyer, two friends booked for raping woman constable

Greater Noida: Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have booked a Meerut-based lawyer and his two other accomplices for allegedly raping a woman constable deployed at Beta-II police station of Greater Noida, inside her house around a couple of months ago.

The victim has alleged that police refused to take her compliant and she had to knock court's door to make her complaint heard. Her compliant was lodged after district court ordered an FIR into the matter. An FIR was then registered under section 376 (punishment for rape) against the lawyer and his two unnamed friends.

The victim in her complaint told police that the accused along with two of his friends allegedly barged into her house in June 2019 and raped her. "The two of accused's friends tied victim's hands with bed while the accused lawyer made her drink mosquito repellant and raped her. They also took her obscene photographs and shot a nude video of her. The woman was raped just a few days before her marriage but the accused kept of blackmailing her on pretext of her photos and videos" the complaint read.

Meanwhile, police investigations revealed monetary dispute between them. "Preliminary investigations into the case showed that an FIR had already been registered at a police station in Meerut against the woman constable for allegedly attempting to murder the lawyer in July. It also came to light that both were in a relationship earlier and a monetary dispute amounting to Rs 18 lakhs against some property was highlighted," said Ranvijay Singh, Superintendent of Police (rural), Gautam Buddh Nagar.
