Labourer from WB found decapitated in Gr Noida

Greater Noida: The decapitated body of a 22-year-old man was found at Pratap Vihar colony of Dadri area in Greater Noida on Friday morning, with police stating they have apprehended his friend for questioning and further investigation in the case is under way.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Rehman, a native of West Bengal who worked as a daily wage labourer. He lived in a rented accommodation in Dadri, with his friend, Madroop.
Police said that Rehmaan had gone for work on Thursday, but did not return home.
Later, his body was spotted by locals during the early hours of Friday.
"We received a PCR call early Friday morning that a man had been lying in a pool of blood in a vacant plot. A police team reached the spot and took the body into custody.
"Upon investigating the case, the identity of the deceased was ascertained. We have apprehended the victim's friend and further investigation in the case is underway" said Nishank Sharma, circle officer, Dadri.
Police said that though it is not clear who killed the victim and dumped his body, it is certain that he was murdered and the accused even tried to hid the victim's identity as he had been decapitated.
"The body has multiple injury marks and the head was also chopped from the body. We have launched an investigation in the case and are trying to cover all the possible angles in the case. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem. The family members of the deceased have also been informed" added Sharma.
