Labourer couple seeks PM's help to find missing daughters
New Delhi: A labourer couple is wandering in Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him to help find their daughters who went missing three years back in Panipat, Haryana. The couple originally belongs to Darbhanga, Bihar but has been working as a daily wager in Panipat for 15 years. The father of the girls alleged that some local women from Sector 24 have conspired and have a hand in the alleged kidnapping of his two daughters. They fear that the suspect women might have sold the girls to human trafficking gang and since then the girls are untraceable.
The younger daughter was allegedly kidnapped three years back when she was just 13-year-old. The family suspect that some women who visited their jhhugi in Chandni Bagh area had a role to play in her disappearance. Later their eldest daughter too disappeared from their jhuggis one and a half year back, according to the family. "We have been wandering in Delhi and intend to meet the Prime Minister, our girls are still untraceable and we cannot survive without them. We are poor labourers and have no one to approach to. It would be a great help if the PM intervenes and help us unite with our daughters," says 50-year-old Jitender Thakur who is in Delhi along with his wife Geeta Devi.
Meanwhile, the Panipat police has said that proper action has been taken on the complaint and arrests haave been made. "A total of four persons including 3 women have been arrested in this case and the investigation is underway. We have acted swiftly on the complaint but the girls are still untraceable. Efforts are on to find the girls," said a senior police officer from Panipat.
"I want my girls back, what is the use of the arrest if my daughters are still not found. We plead to our PM to have a look in the case and help us unite with my daughters," Geeta Devi said.
