Lab attendant held for supplying drugs to inmates in Bhondsi jail

Gurugram: A lab attendant has been arrested for supplying drugs to inmates in Bhondsi jail. He was employed to sample the patients who may be suffering from the HIV AIDS.

At the time of his arrest, he possessed around 33 grams of cannabis and the equal amount of Marijuana as well. He is now being interrogated that how many prisoners he had supplied the drugs to. It is also being found out by the law enforcement officials that were there any police personnel in the jail premises who had helped him supply the drugs.

"We have arrested a person after he caught red-handed by the police officials with quantities of psychotropic drugs and charged him under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. We are trying to find out if there are any other people involved in committing this act," said a senior official from Gurugram police.

Earlier, a police constable was also arrested for selling drugs to the prisoners. A nexus between officials and the inmates in the jail for carrying out illegal activities have often been reported.
