L-G invokes provisions of Delhi Epidemic Diseases COVID-19 Regulations 2020

NEW DELHI: On the directions of lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal new orders to all local bodies in Delhi have been initiated to check spread of Coronavirus by invoking provisions of Delhi Epidemic Diseases COVID-19 Regulations 2020, and provisions of Section 376 of the Delhi Municipal Act,1957.

The Raj-Niwas Secretariat directed all the SDMs and MCD commissioners have been directed to ensure that mobile washbasins, with soaps and regular running water, shall be arranged at all major locations.

Each SDM will have to arrange for a specific number of mobile washbasins in their areas.

Hand sanitisers will also be provided to all the staff and personnel working across all public places.

On the other hand, the Delhi government has also ordered that no social, cultural, family, political, and social gatherings should be held with more than 50 people present at a single gathering.

Even though weddings have been kept out, for now, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also requested the people to postpone weddings to a later date, as a preventive measure to control the outbreak of the virus.

Lieutenant-governor Anil Baija has further appealed that all concerned individuals should take measures to safeguard residents against Coronaviurs.
